Statement on "Coffee Series"
The intent when making and completing these two pieces was to capture the essence of detail in a portrait, particularly focusing on the eyes in both. Referencing Lucille Ball in both, (One of the most Famous Female American Comedians of of the 20th Century), the pieces tends to capture more of a since of beauty, hence the fact that Lucille Ball was known for her dashing red hair, big beautiful eyes, and the "Killer" Arched Eyebrow. Adding the Dash of Coffee in both tends to highlight the key features rather then take them away.
